GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING
HIRING A MINOR There are many opportunities for your business to employ young workers - and help prepare young workers to be competitive in the 21st Century workplace. But, there are also federal and state rules limiting the hours teens can work and the types of jobs that teens can work.
The YouthRules website can help employers understand and comply with these rules. Employers can also download child labor forms from the website. The resources on this website will help you understand what hours and jobs teens can work. On the Safety & Health page, employers will find advice for preventing workplace injuries to young workers. You can also download or order special stickers, which you may place on hazardous equipment to alert all workers that no one under 18 years of age may operate the equipment. Visit the YouthRules website at www.youthrules.dot.gov
